Advanced Mobile Digital Video Systems

Overview Digital multi-channel television to the home is now a mature technology and other applications are being developed using the core digital delivery technologies. One such application is the use of the DVB-T open standard technologies, originally developed for Terrestrial broadcasting, is to provide robust and reliable digital video links from mobile vehicles, helicopters, mobile command centers and hand carried portable units. This white paper describes the use of the DVB-T broadcast standards for mobile video links using microwave frequencies. It also describes a number of system architectures and technologies implemented by TANDBERG TV to improve the performance of such systems.
