Mobile Phones Turn to m-Tickets

Overview The Dutch train company NoordNed Public Transport BV (NoordNed Personenvervoer BV) is demonstrating how, thanks to the latest technology, you can purchase train tickets in a simple, customer-friendly way with its mobile train ticket service. Since September 2002, NoordNed, in cooperation with the international LogicaCMG Group, has been testing the use of a mobile ticket system. Instead of a conventional train ticket, rail passengers in Friesland and Groningen can thus use their mobile telephones as m-tickets. The tickets can be ordered either online or by calling a toll-free 800 number.
