MobileChannel.Network Case Study: Proximus, Belgium

Overview PROXIMUS is a Belgian mobile network operator with over 4 million customers. The services included initially the OTA settings for Nokia, Ericsson, Sony-Ericsson and Samsung handsets, and the Openwave Bootstrap settings for Siemens. This has been recently upgraded to also now offer the new Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) settings. The WEB interface is directly integrated to the Proximus website. The customer enters his mobile phone number and orders his/her settings online. The configuration message is then delivered via SMS to the customer. In the SMS interface, the customer sends a pre-defined keyword to the short number dedicated to the service and receives as a reply the configuration settings sent by the MCN Configurator Server.
