Overview The client, one of the top global telecom equipment makers in North America, makes core switching, wireless, and optical systems for telephone carriers and data service providers worldwide. It required design and test support for its newly developed product for the GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) and UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) market. Infosys partnered with the client to co-design, co-develop and test critical components of the GGSN product that is used as an interface between the GPRS wireless data network and Internet or other private networks. The client's product incorporates Wireless and IP value-added services making integration of an array of disparate technology platforms a critical success factor.
