i2 Transportation Manager on the IBM eServer p5 570 16-Way POWER5 With IBM DB2 Universal Database V8 and the TotalStorage DS4500 Disk Storage System

Overview i2 Transportation Manager version 6.1.5 was tested on the IBM eServer p5 570 with IBM DB2 UDB Enterprise Server Edition V8.1 with Fix Pack 3. Operating System level was AIX 5.2. TotalStorage DS4500 Disk Storage System was used for storage. Benchmark tests had proven the performance of Transportation Manager in 4 and 8 CPU system environments. The previous most recent benchmark was conducted in an 8 CPU (2.8GHz Xeon) W2K/Oracle/WebLogic environment when 150,000 shipments were processed in 8 hours. The same benchmark was recently executed in a 16 CPU eServer p5 570 AIX/DB2/Websphere environment.
