Migrating a Configuration From V5.0 to V5.1: Overview, Explanation, Checklist and Example

Overview WebSphere Application Server for z/OS Version 5.1 requires that you migrate your Version 5.0.x configuration up to the V5.1 level. When you lay down the SMP/E code for WebSphere Application Server for z/OS Version 5.1, you'll find five migration utilities in the hlq.SBBOJCL data set called BBOXMIG1 through BBOXMIG5. Those jobs are run and in the process a new configuration is created - separate from your existing V5.0.x configuration - that is a faithful copy in every way except it'll be at the V5.1 level.
