Obtaining the zAAP Usage Estimation Information in WebSphere for z/OS Application Servers

Overview This white paper documents the procedures required to obtain the data used to estimate the potential zAAP usage for WebSphere for z/OS Version 5.1 servers or higher. Once you are finished with your testing, you should restore the server instance back to its original and normal configuration. Remove the Generic JVM option "-Xifa:projectx" from all the servers or server instances. Be certain to stop and restart the server(s) after the change has been made. After the servers have restarted and run for awhile, examine the //SYSOUT DD file of the server address spaces to make certain that zAAP usage estimation data is no longer being written.
