Ottomobil Takes the Fast Track to Business Growth With IBM TotalStorage
Overview Ottomobil is the central information technology services company for Derendinger Group. The challenge was to Cut IT management and maintenance costs in a fast-growing company, find a storage solution capable of keeping pace with business demands. It implemented an IBM TotalStorage FAStT700 Storage Server supporting 800 users in three countries, storing data accessed via Citrix clients. The branch offices use ADSL links to the Internet, combined with a virtual private network (VPN) to access our systems, so they eliminated their Wide Area Network costs. The benefits were scalable storage infrastructure, opportunities to consolidate data from other sources to the same solution, reduced management and maintenance costs.
