Emergin Case Study: DuPage Public Safety (DU-COMM)
Overview As one of the most active E-911 Centers in the State of Illinois, DuPage Public Safety Communications, or DU-COMM, is responsible for providing emergency call services for 27 of the County's first responder agencies. The Emergin CAD Gateway was installed at both DU-COMM's Communications Center and the DuPage County Sheriff's Office. Emergency calls generate an input line of data, which is sent to the Emergin CAD Gateway via TCP/IP. As data flows into the Emergin system from the Printrak CAD, it scans for pre-set alerts. The benefits were interoperability, streamlined operations, a more seamless dispatch method, system redundancy, less manual work for dispatch team and increased accountability from message logging.
