ObjectVideo Case Study: Global Chemicals Company

Overview A global manufacturer and distributor of chemical products, this client uses rail transportation to ship bulk and hazardous materials into and out of a major facility in North America. As a result, the campus is divided into two parts with traditional perimeter security around each half. ObjectVideo VEW was implemented to increase the security at this major chemicals facility. VEW users set video tripwires at the openings in the perimeter fence, along the sides of the rail tracks and at each rail crossing. Because ObjectVideo VEW can identify, classify and track objects and people, the system automatically detects activities that break a rule, immediately notifying security personnel.
