Star Standard for Van Sales Receipt Printing

Overview The mobile/van sales solutions, comprising a DP8240 and Psion Workabout handheld computer, are implemented nationally by DCS and across a breadth of markets including van sales of florests, baker and for suppliers of savouries (pasties, pies), speciality cheeses, snacks, fish and meat products. Product sales information is collected and processed via the Psion and the DP8340 is used to produce customer receipts and an audit of the day's sales activities. A 9-pin serial impact printer outputting at 12 lines per second, the low cost DP8340 is compact in design, offers two colour printing and the performance longevity for which Star Micronics is renowned (five million lines MCBF).
