Cisco - RFC1483 Bridging Baseline Architecture

Overview This paper describes end-to-end asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) architecture when using RFC1483 bridging. Note that most early versions of xDSL modems were bridges between 10BaseT Ethernet at the host side and RFC1483 encapsulated bridge frames on the WAN side. Even today, the majority of the ADSL customer premises equipment (CPE) deployed in the field are in pure bridging mode.
