High-Speed PCL Printing for Solimar/Xerox Production Printers
Overview PacifiCare Health Systems is one of the largest HMO provider in the United States. PacifiCare has an extensive data processing configuration, which primarily consists of various hosts running on a TCP/IP Ethernet Network, including Data General, EDC, Wang, and Windows NT. These host systems print ASCII, EBCDIC, and PCL applications onto two Xerox 4635s, and one Xerox 4090 via the Solimar Print/Director System. Solimar provided PacifiCare with the opportunity to improve their productivity. Ongoing cost savings for PacifiCare come from duplexing their documents, directly reducing their mailing, supply, paper, labor, and shipping costs. The policies and statements now cost less to mail, are printed on less paper, and require less handling.
