Real-Time Studio: 'The Rational Alternative'

Overview Both Rose and Real-time Studio (RtS) are suites of modeling tools that support UML, the Unified Modeling Language. This covers both functional analysis and design of software-based systems. They both provide graphical editors for drawing UML-compliant diagrams, and store semantic information about the diagram symbols in a data dictionary. Real-time Studio has many advantages over Rose for modeling real-time applications and a number of general architectural advantages making Real-time Studio an attractive alternative for IS/IT projects as well as the technical systems market. This paper describes a number of specific advantages of Real-time Studio, but is by no means exhaustive.
