Specialized Expands Dealer Sales and Saves $500,000 in Annual IT Costs

Overview Specialized Bicycle Components Inc. is one of the world's leading manufacturers of technologically advanced bicycles and components. It needed to build a Web site as well and didn't want customers to be distracted from enjoying Specialized products. That's why Specialized uses the caching functionality of Oracle9i Application Server (Oracle9iAS) technology to serve up the company's huge product catalog to its Web site. Specialized turned to Oracle iStore technology to launch a Web business designed for and owned by a group of Specialized U.S. dealers. The new business-to-business dealer store added in February 2003 also has revitalized Specialized's U.S. sales force with new capabilities.
