Overview 7-Eleven, Inc. pioneered the convenience store concept in 1927 at the Southland Ice Company in Dallas, Texas. It wanted to centralize sourcing and procurement operations for the entire company, lower total cost of goods, optimize $7 billion annual spend, update existing financial system and reduce customizations and effectively track costs and avoid budget overruns. 7-Eleven decided to expand its use of Oracle E-Business Suite by adding Oracle Procurement, Oracle Human Resources, and Oracle Payroll to its upgraded instance of Oracle Financials. Oracle E-Business Suite 11i allowed 7-Eleven to significantly reduce customizations by relying on improved functionality and standard business processes.
