Ashok Leyland Limited Drives Up Efficiency With Centralized ERP

Overview Ashok Leyland is a market leader of commercial vehicles in India. Its goals were to improve production efficiency, access consolidated information easily to improve internal processes, ensure high availability eliminating single points of failure, scale with at low incremental cost and ease integration with indigenous applications. Prompted by its desire to consolidate systems and lower costs, the company moved to an Oracle platform in 2001 and subsequently migrated to Oracle9i Real Application Clusters and Oracle9iAS. Ashok Leyland has developed a centralized ERP system, which caters to their manufacturing, financials, marketing, sales, and distribution activities. Oracle Enterprise Manager provides Ashok Leyland with real-time monitoring of events and effective round-the-clock systems management.
