Avaya Converged Communications Server (SIP) / Ports and Protocols

Overview This technical white paper covers the network ports and protocols used by the Avaya Converged Communications Server and Avaya SIP User Agents. The Avaya Communication Manager (Telephony Call Controller) connects as a SIP Back-to-Back User Agent to the Avaya Converged Communications Server (CCS), which provides SIP Proxy, Registration, and Redirect services. With Communication Manager Extended Access (OPTIM), Avaya 4602 SIP phones have access to advanced non-SIP telephony features. CCS also works with Avaya IP Softphone R5 to introduce multimodal communications combining IP telephony and secure SIP SIMPLE Instant Messaging communications, with integrated presence tracking coverage.
