Ingres r3 Unicode: Crucial in a Global Economy

Overview As organizations expand their business operations into a global marketplace, they must support a multilingual customer base. The Unicode character set standard, published by the Unicode Consortium, simplifies this challenge. Unicode incorporates all of the characters used in the world's written languages, as defined by individual character set standards at the time of its creation. The Unicode Consortium actively maintains the Unicode standard. Ingres r3 from Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) extends its support of Unicode by improving wild card hit accuracy and Unicode coercion in support of legacy character sets and applications.
