Mobil Travel Guide Turns Static Information Into Complex, Personalized Travel Planning Resource

Overview For 45 years, the Mobil Travel Guide has been a must-have for travelers who want up-to-date ratings on hotels, restaurants, and local attractions. It wanted to consolidate Mobil Travel Guide's information on tens of thousands of destinations, hotels and restaurants into one database that could support personalized travel planning and create a Web trip planner that combines mapping, Mobil Ratings, and content, itinerary planning, and hotel. Mobil Travel Guide purchased Oracle9i Database along with Oracle Financials and Oracle Order Management, parts of Oracle E-Business Suite. Mobil Travel Guide uses two Oracle databases. One contains membership information and content from the Mobil Travel Guide, which is accessed through custom GuestClick software. The second database is the repository for Oracle Financials.
