Thin Clients White Papers

Chester & District Housing Trust Builds a Mobile Infrastructure

Overview Chester and District Housing Trust (CDHT) in the United Kingdom is responsible for the administration of 7,000 properties in Chester. It was a challenge to make the organisation's Oracle-based database accessible remotely over wireless connections. The organisation worked with Phoenix, a Gold-level Citrix Solution Advisor, to implement a solution based on Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server and Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. Over 200 users are now able to access applications from a central server farm with a range of devices, predominantly thin clients. With the Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server infrastructure, their maintenance staff can have wireless access to the repairs and management application from wherever they are.
