Overview As an advocate for thin-client computing, National Semiconductor was determined to deploy a successful thin-client implementation. The company had put in place virtually all the critical elements of a thin-client architecture, but there were challenges delivering the file-service functionality in relation to the scalability, availability, and performance required. National met these requirements by making Network Appliance enterprise storage systems the standard file-serving component of its architecture and now receives all the benefits of its thin-client solution.
