Thales e-Security Case Study: A US Government Agency, Washington, DC

Overview Since September 11, a renewed effort has been placed on identifying Sensitive-But-Unclassified (SBU) information and securing the communications channels/networks it traverses. Affording the same high grade solutions to this category of information proves to be impractical, from a cost and logistical perspective. Finding cost-effective and trusted ways of addressing this requirement has been a challenge. Moving forward in its procurement strategy to address this challenge the key Department of Defense Information Technology Agency in Washington, DC looked toward Thales e-Security to provide them with certified encryption solutions to secure SBU networks processing high bandwidth multimedia information requiring Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) encryption technology.
