Groupama Insurances (UK): A Single Version of the Truth
Overview Groupama Insurances in the UK was created during 1999, following the merger of Gan Insurance and Lombard General Insurance. Gan Insurance (now renamed Groupama Insurance Company Limited) chose SAS software for a companywide data warehouse - a centralized repository to cover all aspects of the business. The first solution was known as the Generic Viewer. The team then focused on developing summarized views of motor and household data with intuitive end-user query tools. Even at the summarized level, a data mart might have between 5-10 million records. They might be delivering a new summary of a million records but the query process only takes 30 seconds. So there are clear performance benefits.
