Jupitermedia Case Study: Northern Scotland Police Force
Overview Northern Constabulary, established in 1975, provided police and protection services for Northern Scotland. Northern Constabulary needed to replace outdated personal computers as well as add additional desktops for their growing staff. They required access to specific Windows-based software applications, which run on servers using Microsoft Windows Terminal Services and Citrix(r) MetaFrame(r). Northern Constabulary needed to integrate their current Windows-based and legacy operating systems, Intranet, email, and desktop applications into one state-of-the-art computing architecture. Neoware's software and thin client appliances allowed Northern Constabulary to use all of their existing systems, have an integrated Intranet browser and email, and eliminate the need for desktop visits to deploy applications, significantly lowering total cost of ownership.
