Semantic Association Identification and Knowledge Discovery for National Security Applications
Overview This paper discusses a challenging problem of finding new insights and actionable information from large amounts of heterogeneous content. In particular, this paper discusses the technical challenges in developing a prototypical aviation security application, but similar requirements and challenges exist in business intelligence as well as national and homeland security applications involving large scale text and content analytics. This paper makes a unique attempt of driving research from a realistic application, core research issues in semantic association discovery, and use of commercial Semantic Web technology in building a scalable test bed over open source data.
