Overview Thanks to generous funding from the U.S. Department of Justice, NASCIO has become the national leader in helping states and local governments understand the importance of enterprise architecture and adopt it as a critical tool. Moreover, NASCIO's research is widely applicable across the various functions of government. As part of NASCIO's broad intergovernmental outreach effort, NASCIO has already begun working with the CIO for the Department of Homeland Security, Steve Cooper, to begin laying the groundwork for a truly intergovernmental and enterprise-wide approach to architecting homeland security information systems.
