Wyse Technology Case Study: BM Polyco Ltd.
Overview BM Polyco Ltd., based in Enfield, North London, is a distributor of gloves for industrial and retail markets. The challenge was to integrate the mix of systems, along with FAX capabilities, to provide full access to existing Windows applications for all employees, as well as to enable new capabilities such as Internet access and email. Polyco chose to incorporate Winterm 2700 devices into its existing enterprise system, with a central server supporting them. ICA 3 thin-client software was added to the 386 and 486 PCs and Macintosh systems for further integration. With the Winterm solution, Polyco has gained a strong infrastructure that supports its many platform requirements, including its legacy UNIX applications.
