ARMY Reserve Benefits From Dell's Custom Factory Integration
Overview The U.S. Army Reserve's 88th Regional Support Command (88th RSC) was established in 1996. The 88th RSC faced numerous challenges that accompany lack of standardization in the Information Technology (IT) area. Exceptional growth and rapid deployment of the Army Reserve Network (ARNet) across a broad geographic area combined to create a challenging environment. Across its 150 locations, the RSC found there were no uniform configurations, making software upgrades and technical support a labor-intensive task. After evaluating several vendors, the 88th RSC took advantage of Dell's Custom Factory Integration (CFI) and Imaging Management Services (IMS). The 88th RSC provided Dell with detailed image specifications, including standard and proprietary software, logos, and graphics, and Dell ensures each system shipped looks and runs the same.
