The heureka! Project Post-Merger Integration Bank Austria/Creditanstalt
Overview Bank Austria is the result of the 1991 merger between Zentralsparkasse Wien (Vienna) and Osterreichische Landerbank. As a result the heureka! project was launched. Its objective was to internally consolidate all of its legacy systems and processes. Whilst undergoing a major restructuring internally, the external running of the two banks was to remain intact. Although it was performing many key functions and sharing responsibility for managing the process, Accenture didn't take on formal management roles. This model of cooperation between the Bank Austria customer and Accenture proved to be extraordinarily successful in overcoming the huge challenge produced by the scale and complexity of the heureka! project.
