Mapping an Innovative Digital Content Management System for GeoPlaneta
Overview GeoPlaneta specialises in creating, packaging and distributing content related to travel, tourism, cartography, maps and guides. In order to position itself within these various new media channels, GeoPlaneta needed a robust and scalable digital content management (DCM) system. Accenture built the DCM system to classify, store and retrieve all the types of digital content that GeoPlaneta would use. It quickly became apparent that in an increasingly digital world the value from any DCM system would be through reusing/repurposing existing content rather than the costly process of creating content. With the automatic geopositioning functionalities integrated in the DCM system, it can now provide a suite of services from location based information to on-line asset tracking, routing and mapping services.
