Overview This report is concerned with the management of Safety, Health, Environment and Fire Safety (SHEF) in MOD. SHEF includes health and safety at work, equipment and materiel safety, fire safety and environmental protection. It includes elements of occupational health cover, but not those matters relating to the health of Service personnel, which are the responsibility of Surgeon General and his staff. The aim of the SHEF management system is to ensure that defense outputs are delivered cost-effectively and safely, while minimizing any environmental impact.
