High-Performance Radio Frequency Identification - Compliance and Beyond

Overview For most companies facing the changes wrought by RFID/EPC, the business case for compliance is perceived as decidedly negative in the short term. Supply chains have been refined and optimized to the highest levels over the past decade, and the added gains in finished product visibility available through RFID/EPC generally do not justify the cost of implementation. Faced with government regulations or retailer mandates, failing to adopt the technology is not an option. Accenture has developed an approach to adopting RFID/EPC that aims to help quickly meet short-term market demands, and also lays the foundation for improved business performance as marketplace uptake of the technology deepens in the future.
