Trusted Computing: Trusted Platform Management and Key Recovery

Overview The computer industry offers a variety of PCs and desktop boards equipped with a Trusted Computing Module (TPM), a dedicated microchip enabled for security capabilities. Specifications for the TPM have been developed and promoted by an industry standards organization called the Trusted Computing Group (TCG).

Working within the framework of the TCG, Wave Systems has developed the EMBASSY® Trust Suite portfolio of applications and server infrastructure solutions to address security and privacy concerns in the enterprise and in government markets. Wave’s client and server solutions deliver enhanced data protection, enable strong authentication for access control, and provide the ability to manage credentials created by the hardware. On the client PC, the EMBASSY Trust Suite facilitates data protection and strong authentication through the use of keys generated by the TPM hardware device. The TPM securely protects these critical keys that the EMBASSY Trust Suite uses to safeguard information and identities. Wave’s Key Transfer Manager (KTM) is an innovative key archive system for those who need an easy-to-use, yet fully featured method to securely archive, restore and transfer keys having migratory properties that are secured by the TPM.
