Using Ant and Antenna to Build MIDP Applications

Overview This paper describes the process for using Ant, a Java based build tool to simplify compiling and packaging of applications. Also introduced is Antenna, a set of Java classes to extend Ant, with a specific focus on creating Mobile Information Device (MIDP) applications. Although there are a number of Integrated Development Tools (IDT) available for building Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition (J2ME platform) applications (MIDlets), a larger group of developers still prefer to use command line oriented tools.
