Computational Grids Meet the Database: An Overview of the Integration of Oracle 9i With Platform Grid Software

Overview This paper provides three examples of the use of grid technologies to solve particular problems within an organization. The examples include the automation of batch processing across multiple databases and computers, the coordination of computing resources at multiple sites to increase the throughput of a parameter space study, and the automatic provisioning of their virtualized databases. In each case, the solution to the problem is built using existing technology from Oracle and Platform Computing.
