Realising the Full Potential of WAP - E-Commerce Focus
Overview Realising the full potential of WAP: Operators are hoping that the promotion of new handset specifications by the GSM Association's mServices initiative - and the emergence of GPRS - will finally a low WAP to reach its complete capability. The mServices initiative (established by the GSM Association) was created to drive usability and is largely based on the new WAP specification - WAP 2.0. Its primary concern is fragmentation in the handset market and the inability for operators to depend on specific handset features, which it believes are necessary for the success of its members.
