BC Cancer Agency Drives New Levels of Patient Care Quality

Overview The BC Cancer Agency (BCCA) provides a cancer care program for the people of British Columbia. BC Cancer Agency wanted to store and protect all cancer related images and make them available throughout multiple facilities as part of the electronic patient record. BC Cancer Agency deployed the Bycast StorageGRID MultiSite across five facilities to form a 14 TB archive that is linked with the electronic medical record and acquires studies from internal modalities, PACS and five external hospital PACS. More than 1,000 clinicians use the system. The Bycast StorageGRID solution combines the power of grid computing with intelligent information lifecycle management to optimize petabyte-scale archives of fixed content data.
