Hierarchical Resource Management and Application Control in Grid Environments

Overview Several works on grid computing have been proposed in the last years. However, most work presented in the literature, including available software, can not deal properly with several issues such as loss of data, resubmission of faulty jobs, network control, data locality, unnecessary migration of transient data les, overload of submit machines, among others. This paper presents an ongoing work that deals with these limitations, focusing on applications that spread a very large number of tasks across the grid network.
