CIENA's CN 2000 Storage Extension Platform Provides a High Performance Solution for Cost-Effectively Extending Multiple Applications to Meet Business Continuance Goals
Overview The University of California Davis (UC Davis) Medical Center, a fully accredited facility with over 500 beds, supports the clinical and research missions of the UC Davis School of Medicine. Challenge for the University was to optimize existing fiber network to meet growing storage needs and improve the management and QoS of numerous storage protocols, platforms, and applications including disk mirroring, SAN extension between Brocade switches and NAS via GbE. The University implemented CIENA's CN 2000 Storage Extension Platform, designed to leverage UC Davis' existing fiber infrastructure to gain additional capacity, while providing security and visibility of multiple protocols, applications, and platforms.
