A Firm Foundation: With Its New Look and New IBM Technology, Florida Furniture Retailer Is Ready for E-Business on Demand as It Begins Its Second Century

Overview W.S. Badcock Corporation has grown from a single store in Mulberry, Florida to a 340-store furniture chain with locations throughout the southeastern United States. They wanted to implement a technology infrastructure capable of supporting their growth plan while eliminating every ounce of inefficiency in the supply chain. They also had to overhaul their aging technology infrastructure. Champion Solutions Group, an IBM Premier Business Partner based in Boca Raton, Florida, assisted in the development of a plan to consolidate Badcock's forty-five network servers to six IBM xSeries servers and an IBM BladeCenter, and implemented a Storage Area Network (SAN) built around an IBM FAStT Storage Server. The Company is also integrating its business applications using IBM WebSphere.
