IBM and Computer Guidance Streamline WIMCO Operations: IT Enhancements Cement Relationship With Construction Company

Overview WIMCO is a general contractor with its headquarters in Washington, North Carolina. The challenge was to integrate all IT operations at WIMCO so that the construction company could save money by reducing the time and errors associated with multiple manual entries of the same information into different databases. WIMCO kept migrating the software and converting the data files as they moved up sequentially to the System/34, System/36, AS/400 and now an IBM eServer iSeries Model 800 as well as three IBM eServer xSeries, one of which is running Computer Guidance's Construction Management System eCMS using IBM WebSphere Express 5.1.
