Applebee's and Sprint Cook Up Fast, Scalable Restaurant Network

Overview Applebee's became America's Favorite Neighbor by establishing comfortable local restaurants. At first, Applebee's relied on faxes and basic dial-up to communicate inventory needs - a system too antiquated for the world's biggest casual-dining company. Not only was this system inefficient, it was also difficult to manage, requiring constant dealings with remote sites and the need to keep up troublesome modem banks. Sprint proved it could meet Applebee's objectives by designing a frame relay solution that keeps Applebee's company restaurants connected. Using the Sprint network, Applebee's has been able to realize millions of dollars in annualized cost benefit through improved operational efficiencies in labor, inventory and other restaurant operating costs.
