Ethernet Over SONET at the Edge

Overview What is the goal of any service provider? To deliver, new and traditional, services to their customers that meet their needs. The real challenge of this goal is to deliver these services to the network edge at minimal cost and impact to network operations and infrastructure. Virtual concatenation (VC), also known as Ethernet over SONET (EoS), is the emerging technology that allows service providers to efficiently deliver data services to their small-to-medium enterprise (SME) customers over their existing SONET backbone with no impact on their core equipment.
