Baselining the Large Enterprise/Metro Architecture

Overview The new challenge to networks is the Malthusian evolution of applications. These new applications require control, latency and security at levels previously unheard of. The issues with these applications have become so great that many companies are back to building parallel networks reminiscent of the voice/data networks everyone seems to be trying to get away from. There are parallel networks for voice-over-IP applications, mobile computing, e-business, IPv6, for ISCSI, and so on.
