Adding IPv6 Glue to the Root Zone

Overview The experiment described in this paper investigates the impact of adding IPv6 glue to the root zone to the number of truncated messages sent by a root server. This was done by replaying real life DNS traffic in a laboratory setup and counting the number of truncated messages. Measurements were done with both BIND 8 and NSD. Real life traffic from L root and K root (from both the AMS-IX and LINX) was used.
