Qwest Chooses Hitachi Freedom Storage

Overview When telecommunications giant Qwest went looking for a storage solution for a new customer offering, it turned to Hitachi Data Systems. One of the world's largest providers of broadband Internet and telecommunications services, the Denver, CO-based company operates Cybercenters across the U.S. that provide hosting and collocation services for a variety of clients connected to its optical backbone network. Hitachi Data Systems was selected to provide the core of a new utility storage service the company is currently rolling out to customers. Qwest's new Managed Storage and Backup product will offer varying amounts of capacity and availability to subscribing companies.
