Lightning 9900 at Work Case Study: iomart
Overview iomart is a rapidly growing company, formed in 1998 as an integrated telecommunications and internet services provider. As businesses become increasingly dependent on email as their key business communications tool, the need for a fast, reliable and secure email service has become more and more crucial. In response to this growing messaging trend, iomart has now introduced ThinkMail, a fully outsourced email service available to businesses across Europe. Initial estimates for the first year are approximately 100,000, potentially rising to 1.5 million mailboxes provisioned on the ThinkMail system. To accommodate a messaging service on this scale, Hitachi Data Systems has had to meet some exacting storage requirements. Following a review of all the major storage system providers, iomart contacted Hitachi Data Systems and was extremely impressed with the Lightning 9900 series.
