Hitachi Storage at Work: Hattrick

Overview Players in Hattrick's internet football game were reaching 15,000 at a time. Their existing storage capacity had been reached and the site was slowing down. Players very soon lose interest if the site is slow to respond or is temporarily unavailable. Hattrick chose a new storage infrastructure that failed to deliver the capacity required and they began to suffer random failures. The supplier was alerted but no solution was forthcoming, so they turned to Hitachi Data Systems. Hattrick were loaned a data storage system, which was installed, tested, and up and running in just two days. They then asked Hitachi Data Systems to design a robust, scalable, and lasting solution.
