Hitachi Storage at Work: GRZ IT Center Linz GmbH
Overview GRZ IT Center had difficulties with the failsafe capability of their IT center. In order to facilitate business expansion and support their strategic objectives, GRZ IT Center had to overcome a number of challenges and limitations within their storage and server infrastructure. Hitachi Data Systems proposed a solution that combined SAN and NAS technologies based upon two Lightning 9970V storage systems. Brocade Silkworm fibre channel switches and a Hitachi Data Systems/NetApp Enterprise GF960 NAS Gateway. This approach integrated the flexibility and capability of a SAN with the functionality of a NAS. Furthermore, the entire infrastructure could be managed centrally using a common interface.
